i have been immersed in the world of jewelry for exactly a full year; 14 full moons rose, started building my my big girl wardrobe and i ate too much gelato.
i gained a new hobby, too: gemology. i am fascinated by gemstones, with their rich histories in symbolism, and natural creation. i only buy jewelry made of gold or sterling silver, as i now understand the value and craftsmanship of jewelry. my jewelry is my talisman, and every piece is magic.
another thing i’ve come to favor is locally/regionally made jewelers. i am a midwestern girl and chicagoan, and i love supporting a brand that i have something major in common with!
so i bring to you my most favorite discovery, mineralogy, by chicago metalsmith theresa cowan. her pieces are so unique, and are one of a kind creations. these pieces are heirloom quality and crafted with natural gems and minerals.
her studio is so cool, incorporating sharp lines and shapes with organic surroundings.
and the jewelry, oh… her jewelry is from another world.
… & i love a brand that expertly matches home goods to their work; this gives the brand personality and genuine flare. creating a lifestyle, if you will.
i am so obsessed! her designs are wonderful, and i am slowly collecting her work. so far i have two beautiful pieces; my boyfriend gifted me this sweet opal baby, but with moisanite (instead of a diamond) on sterling silver, and this diamond sunrise but crafted using moissanite and sterling silver.
how could i leave this without even mentioning the ring of my very dreams?
diamonds and gold, what could be better?
you can find her here, or if you’re local, from these stockists.
